Jonathan: Hi, this is Jonathan with O Camgirl. I’m here today with Marie Wadsworthy, a webcam model from the American Midwest.

How long have you been working in the adult industry, and what drew you into it?

Marie: That’s kind of a trick question. I actually started out a long, long time ago, back when it was a 30 second refresh webcam. Then I got out of it. My kids got old enough that it might cause some issues. Now they’re grown and out of the house, so I got back into it. We started because I did web design and graphics and my husband used to take pictures of me and we used to send them out, so that’s how we got started.

I mean I started right around the same time as Jennicam, which is where I got the idea from. I was probably about 3 months behind her.

Jonathan: It must suck to be the Buzz Aldrin of walking on the moon.

Marie: It was a lot different back then!

Jonathan: Is the adult entertainment industry your main source of income. If not, what is?

Marie: I do web design and graphics. And I make more doing this, but that’s actually my real life job.

Jonathan: So it’s sort of a split thing?

Marie: Correct.

Jonathan: Every job has its pros and cons. What do you love and what you do hate about webcam modeling?

Marie: I grew up a nerd girl. I was always really thin and had really long, skinny legs. So it’s kind of really empowering for me to have all these guys find me attractive.

Jonathan: Anything specifically you don’t like about the job?

Marie: Sometimes you get these really weird, creepy, stalker-type guys.

Jonathan: Yeah, that can’t be a lot of fun.

Marie: No, it’s really not.

Jonathan: How do you handle that?

Marie: I had a guy last night- I did one show with him and he wanted another show, and I told him that we just don’t click. And he just continued to pester me and pester me, and then last night he started threatening to write stuff about me… I’m not too worried about it. You just block them and ignore them. You can’t let it get to you.

Jonathan: Good job handling your stuff, though.

Marie: If I don’t enjoy my shows with somebody I don’t do them. I’m here to have a good time and have fun, and if I don’t have fun with you I’m not going to do a show for you.

Jonathan: How does the work you do factor into your every day life and relationships with family and friends?

Marie: Very few people know about this side of my life. It’s hard sometimes being a little bit secretive about it, but other than that I don’t really think it affects my every day life. I think it makes my husband’s and my sex life a lot better, a lot more entertaining. I’ve learned to try a lot of new things that I wouldn’t have thought of.

Like, I had a guy who wanted me to use rubber gloves and I would have never thought of that, but they actually feel incredibly good on you.

Jonathan: How has being a webcam model changed you or your perspective?

Marie: I don’t think I’m as judgmental as I used to be, by any means. And I think I’ve definitely gained a lot of confidence.

Jonathan: You’ve been doing this on and off for a while now. Do you have a favourite funny or interesting story about camming?

Marie: Probably the first time …I’ve started anal training since I started doing this, and I think the first time I took my biggest wand so far was like, I was shocked that I actually got it all the way in there and how much I enjoyed it. That was probably the funniest because I think I stopped in the middle and I was like, “Oh my god, this feels really good” – in the middle of the live show on my website. So, you know, it wasn’t just like a one-on-one show, so it was kind of funny.

Jonathan: That’s a hell of a realization to have in public chat!

So what’s the most important piece of advice you would give to someone considering becoming a webcam model?

Marie: Stay true to yourself. Don’t do anything that you’re uncomfortable with or anything that you’re gonna feel guilty about later. Don’t let a guy talk you into anything.
