Lakshmi’s New Millennium Start to the Adult Industry  

I started in January 2000, with a poor quality webcam whose colors were little more than black and white, a very slow computer, and worst of all a terrible connection to the Internet. Now it’s all different and new camgirls have in my opinion their lives facilitated in every way.

The reason that I began broadcasting was the need to acquire financial independence to radically change my life. I wanted to get divorced and needed a good salary to care for a child, a baby at that time. A virtual friend told me about the possibility of earning money that way and I decided to try.

How Lakshmi Pays Her Bills

This is my job, the only source of my income. If I work 2 or 3 hours daily I easily make above  €1,500/month. If I work more hours I make more money.

Lakshmi’s Background and Personality Converge in Camming

Several factors influenced me.

The miserable wages that are paid by any ordinary job in my country. An ordinary worker has to work eight hours daily to earn a third of what I earn working only 2 hours a day.

My personality also influenced me. I was born to be free. Hard work, taking orders and insults from colleageus and bosses – it’s not good for anyone. I deserve much more. Now I am my own boss.

I knew that sex work has always been profitable, but I did not want to prostitute myself in real life. To be a camgirl I don’t need to be a prostitute. It is completely different.

Lakshmi’s First Day on Cam Left Much to be Desired

I remember my first day and it was awful. I was trying to understand how the site system worked when I heard a strange sound (I learned later that it was the beep indicating the beginning of a private session). I had no idea what was happening, and suddenly I see a few lines of text appearing in chat, and these few lines left me red as a ripe tomato. The client had written “you are not worth a cent of the amount you charge” and left the chat.

A Great Customer Can Make All the Difference

A few years ago I had a client who paid hours of private sessions, just to talk, as if I were a psychologist and he a patient that needed advice. He always appeared at night and was talking with me for hours. Once in one of these sessions I fell asleep, and when I woke up I realized he had been looking at me while I slept, paying €2.00/minute for more than 5 hours. Wonderful way to make money, being asleep :).

I love my work but I only do things I like. I hate when customers try to give me orders or make  demands, especially without paying before. I love to be my own boss and not have schedules. I don’t like stalkers.

Lakshmi’s Secret to the Success

My success is mainly due to my natural sensuality, and my personality, a characteristic much appreciated by those who follow me for years. I’m more appreciated because I put my true self behind the webcam than by the things I do on my shows. I am not a mere actress. I think they can feel this, and that is my secret.

For many years this was a major concern – I was afraid of being discovered by family and friends. Now I just do not think about it. I live my life, I pay my bills, and no one has anything to do with it. Of course I will not tell everybody what I do, but if anyone finds out, we’ll see. Be yourself. Be humble. You should keep your mind open to learn – do not be arrogant. I have 16 years of this work and I continue to learn every day. Please do not envy someone’s success – you do not know what this person had to struggle to achieve it. Successful people should be admired, not envied.
