Alexa asks:
So I’m a beginner cam girl and I didn’t know that we get a whole week of being promoted on Chaturbate. Is there any way to correct it or compensate for the time I lost? When I first started I didn’t really think I would enjoy camming much but I ended up liking it the more I did it. But I wasn’t on much in the beginning.
Cat answers:
As a new webcam model, your New Model status is a springboard to building your initial fan base. Your initial fan base is your springboard to success as a camgirl. But if you missed out on the new model promotional period on your first cam site, you’re not totally screwed. The way I see it, Alexa, you have a couple of options.
Option #1
Turn it around on Chaturbate.
Basically you’re going to want to start logging very consistent hours and build your fan base. It will be more of a challenge without that extra promotion but it’s not impossible if you put in the work. Chaturbate is a solid choice for a new model; if you like it there, it can still work for you.
If you aren’t already keeping up an active Twitter presence, do that. You can keep your present fans updated on your shows, connect with other models, connect with potential customers and market yourself. I’ll definitely write more about Twitter in the future, but I would recommend getting that up now if you haven’t already.
Option #2
Take advantage of a whole lotta options.
If you’re having trouble on Chaturbate because of the missed promotional opportunity, there are so many more opportunities out there to springboard your webcam modeling career.
Personally I think this might be your best option if you haven’t developed your fan base on Chaturbate at this point. Make a fresh start now that you know about the model promotion period.
Remember that if you keep up with Twitter, your fans will usually not mind following you to other sites. Here’s what I think you should do:
-
Use the springboard promotional period on another site to establish your fan base.
-
If you decide you’d prefer to work on Chaturbate in the long run then you can go back with an existing following. You could also cam on both sites of course.
Do some research to find the best alternative for you, but here are some ideas to get you started if you decide to try this route:
- MyFreeCams – 3 days promotional period. I mention this one because it’s a similar platform to Chaturbate. If you like Chaturbate you might also enjoy MFC. Some girls love this site and some hate it, so it really depends on your personality and goals.
- Flirt4Free – 7 days promotional period. The focus on this platform is on private shows rather than public. They also have private forums for their models so you can get additional support if needed.
- Streamate – 30 days promotional period. It’s a solid site with a focus on private and group shows. I will say that I’ve heard models say this site isn’t the best for starting out. I joined this one as an experienced model so unfortunately I can’t comment on that.
I hope this helps! Feel free to contact me again if you need anything. You can always find me on Twitter, too. 😉
I’m going to leave the comments section open to any other cam models who may have a different perspective on the best course of action here. I am of course always speaking from my own experience and opinion.
Do good.
Hello.
I messaged chaturbate support about same problem (I missed 7 day promotional period and now struggling lol). They told even if I open new account I won’t receive “new” tag this way.. Not sure why though.
Hello ))
I apologize for this question being asked in a wrong topic. Does flirt4free allows models wear face masks? Nothing crazy ))
I don’t work there presently. You’ll have to read their rules on site!
Hi, I have a question. It says that Streamate isn’t the best for new girls just starting out, does anyone know why that is and what can a new model like myself do to make it work?(:
Hey Khloe,
Great question! I always recommend building your fan base on another site like F4F or Chaturbate, because then you can bring them over to Streamate when you’re ready and you’ll get a customer referral bonus of like 30% of everything your fans spend on the site, which really adds up. Starting on Streamate can be more difficult as they won’t drive a lot of traffic to your room beyond the initial New Model Promo period – which means if you’re still working on building your fan base after that, it’s going to be a much bigger challenge than if you’d started elsewhere and brought your own traffic.
Hope this helps!

Hello girls! If I delete my old account and I make a new one on Chaturbate, I’ll receive the new tag again?
Hi Naty!
Based on Chaturbate’s answer to Alexa’s question in the below comment thread, this seems to be the case. I suspect you would need to use a new name and email, and I hope someone will correct me if this isn’t right. Best, Cat
Thank you so much for answering my question! This helped me out a lot. I’m still having a hard time on chaturbate. But i really enjoy the site. Could i maybe message support and see if i could start another profile? I know there the thing about my fans there but i could cam for a while more on there just to let my fans know im moving and what not then switch to the new one and cam off there from then on. Not sure if i could even do that but i think it might help….
I’ve never dealt specifically with this issue on Chaturbate, but I suspect there will be a waiting period (usually six months to a year) after deactivating your account before you can sign up with a new one. I would go ahead and ask Support for the details. Let me know how it goes!
I messaged them and they recommended I make a new profile. They dont have any six month period or anything apparently.
Well that makes things easier! 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the help 🙂
