Camming is a risk, and we are sadly not a society that sees healthy expressions of sex as desirable or admirable. That said, you can still become famous without giving away information that will hurt you in the long run. Below is a list of 5 things you can do to be anonymous while becoming famous.
1. Change Your Name
Changing your name changes your searchable identity. Certain cam sites may require you to upload a picture of yourself with a recent ID card. This is a policy to protect them, so don’t be afraid to ‘validate’ your identity with a recognized and reputable camming site. A cam name lets you assume a different identity and stops any searches from linking to your social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Remember, they are just as curious about you as you are about them. I chose my name from a ratty science fiction book, and so Ember Light was born. Below is a cheeky little way to get you thinking of a cam name
Name of your first pet + the name of the road you grew up on = CAM NAME

2. Be ‘Bare’ But Don’t Overshare
Choose what information you share about yourself and what to keep away. Never mention family members, your place of work, your city, your real name. Never share links that may compromise your job or relationships.
Personally, I have created a ‘life’ for myself based loosely off what is true to me. As a school teacher I take a big risk in camming and, while I never outright tell my clients that I teach, they do know I am in education. Try and remain true to you – this draws people in as much as your cute Wonderbra.
3. Build Your Brand
Cam modeling, like any modeling is about what you offer your client. You need to give some thought into how to sell yourself. Creating a brand is as simple as “hash tagging” a picture. You may have changed your name, but you can still offer them a brand that is true to you.
Success in the cam industry is not just about taking your clothes off – it is about who you are. Camming offers what porn does not – a human connection. Take some time to find a ‘niche’ that you are comfortable with and your fame will only grow from there. By having a brand, you can replicate your cam shows wherever you go, again and again
4. Choose Your Audience
As a cam model, you can be selective about who you let into your little realm. You can build up your fame either on a specific site or among a group of people. Having returning clients is a wonderful feeling, and to them you are famous and adored.
Your audience and scope is as large or small as you want it to be. The smaller your audience, the less chance you have of being “outed” if this is a fear of yours. I have personally never had anything but nice guys as part of my audience, and I have never felt my identity threatened or questioned.
5. Be in Control
The beauty of camming is that you are in a position of power. You can pick your name, your audience, what you do and don’t do and above all how ‘famous’ you want to be. That may sound strange but it is true. Some girls are happy to cam for some extra money and some girls want to cam for the big numbers. You are the master of your own webcam and you control every aspect of it. You may have fears of people recording you, but the truth is everything you do is risky – you just need to be in control of how risky.

Remember that you are the master of your own cam. If you are clever about your identity and how you hide it, you can be successful and see your virtual name in virtual lights.
Chloe Summerwood is my fake name, apparently. It actually sounds good? Lol.
Good advice, good read.
Chloe Summerwood sounds great 😀
Hey there! I am also a school teacher, and I’m really excited to see that you are too. I haven’t started webcamming yet but it’s been on my mind for months now… the only thing stopping me is that I’m scared of being found out, obviously it would be disastrous for my job. I would love to talk to you more and ask some questions? Maybe you could email me :)?
If I’d taken Ember’s advice I would have started this journey as Fluffy South. Ha! It even speaks to a specific niche. Amazing, lol. 😀
