I’ve been researching cam girling, still haven’t joined the industry. I do understand why these would scare people away – but I also plan on trying to take up financial domination and sugar dating. I don’t plan on going to college, and I’m unsure on how this would effect me becoming a freelance writer if I was to be outed.
I’m sort of the black sheep in the family, so I don’t really mind if they find out. Then my boyfriend and friends don’t mind me joining the sex work industry – they’re fine as long as I’m happy. It’s only the whole freelance writing thing I’m confused on.

I was thinking of becoming a cam girl myself just on a whim for some extra cash.. are you aware of any websites I could sign up for where showing your face isn’t a requirement? I’d feel much more confident if I could at least conceal some of my face during the job.
You’ll have to read the site rules to be sure, but many sites do allow the use of those pretty eye masks or even wigs to help disguise yourself if you feel the need to. Please don’t do this on a whim, though. It will be on the Internet for the rest of time. This website exists to help you weigh the pros and cons of getting into this industry.

I am on my way to medical school (which costs a lot of money that I don’t have). I really like the idea of being a cam model (mostly for the money, also for the fun and confidence and alter ego), but I know that old-school people in my chosen profession of medicine would not be so excited about this job. I am thinking of being a cam model to make some extra money for my schooling, and to have a bit of fun while I’m at it. I definitely think I have what it takes. But can schools and jobs that require a background check find out about my cam model past (provided that I become one, of course)? What if I joined the military or law enforcement medical groups that have more intense background checks?

If you work with a third party site your background check will merely show that you were an independent contractor with X company (usually a parent company that doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the adult industry). I can’t speak to more intense background checks as I don’t have any experience and haven’t heard anything about that previously. I imagine that as long as you don’t do so well as to become well known, and you are careful about protecting your identity, you should be fine.

Hey! I was wondering if it’s possible to cam and set it so only certain places around the world can see you, just to lower the Risk of someone recognizing me!
Most sites offer a privacy feature called geo blocking, which lets you select countries or states that you want to block from viewing your stream. Of course it’s not 100% as many people these days browse the web behind a proxy that puts their IP address in a different location.

If you find a site you’d like to cam on, just start the model application process. Most sites will offer international payment options (Payoneer is an excellent choice). Webcam models work from around the globe, so it shouldn’t be too hard for you to find a site that works for you. To get you started, check out Flirt4Free or Chaturbate.
